Energus celebrates Disability Pride Month
Disability Pride Month is about recognising that disability is a natural part of human diversity. It encourages us to move beyond awareness and focus on creating environments where everyone feels valued, respected and able to thrive.
At Energus, inclusion isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we actively work towards. We are committed to creating a workplace where colleagues, graduates and apprentices have the support they need to succeed, regardless of disability or long-term health condition.
What inclusion means for Energus
We know that everyone’s experience is different that’s why we focus on understanding individual needs rather than taking one size fit’s all approach.
Through our Health & Wellbeing and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, we provide support including:
· Workplace adjustments tailored to individual needs.
· Health Adjustment Passports (HAPs) and Work with Me Passports (WWMPs) to help colleagues communicate how they work best.
· Access to health and wellbeing support through our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and DigiCare .
· A dedicated Wellbeing Team offering guidance, support and signposting.
· Manager support to help create inclusive working environments.
· Promoting psychological safety, where people feel comfortable sharing their needs without fear of judgement.
Our aim is simple: to remove barriers so everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
This Disability Pride Month lets celebrate difference, embrace inclusion and continue building a workplace where every individual feels seen, supported and empowered to Succeed.
We ask everyone to join in; small actions make big differences:
· Listen to people’s experiences without making assumptions
· Ask what support someone needs rather than guessing
· Use respectful and inclusive language
· Challenge stereotypes and unconscious bias
· Celebrate the strengths and talents that different perspectives bring
We are proud to be recognised as a Disability Confident Leader. This status reflects our Energus values:
· Openness – encouraging honest conversations about disability and support.
· Collaboration – working together to remove barriers.
· Respect – valuing every individual's experiences and strengths.
· Recognition – celebrating the contributions and achievements of disabled colleagues.
We will continue to listen, learn and take action to ensure all employees feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed, where everyone can bring the whole selves to work.
