From planning to execution: A graduate's successful delivery supporting a full-scale event

The NDA group hosted their third Wellbeing Leadership event at Energus last month, where key wellbeing stakeholders were invited along to the event, held at Energus, for a day-long, multi-stage event where they listened to key thinkers in wellbeing and got involved in a range of skills development workshops.

The event included a variety of different talks with different topics and opportunities for networking and connecting with those across the group.

NDA group Wellbeing and Environment Graduate Laura Docherty was involved in the planning of the event, when asked about the experience, she said:

“On 25th February, we ran the NDA group Health, Safety and Wellbeing Conference at Energus, bringing together nearly 300 delegates from across the NDA group and our partner organisations. The event featured a progressive agenda with over 30 speakers, covering a wide range of topics from Psychological Safety to Preventing High Potential Events, all of which underscored the importance of health, safety and wellbeing in enabling the NDA mission.

I was involved in planning the event from start to finish, which gave me insight into how large-scale conferences actually come together. My role included helping to shape the agenda, coordinating session content and supporting the delivery of the day itself. It was a fantastic opportunity to contribute to something meaningful and to help ensure the importance of health, safety and wellbeing was clearly communicated throughout the event.

We were joined by the NDA Group CEO David Peattie, along with several other senior leaders, which really highlighted the significance of the day and the topics being discussed. It was also great to see mental health and wellbeing becoming such a core part of the conversation, with leaders demonstrating that their commitment to the wellbeing of our people is absolutely paramount.

Personally, the event was a brilliant networking opportunity, and I learned a huge amount from both the speakers and the delegates. Overall, it was a great experience and a privilege to be involved in at this stage in my graduate scheme. Being trusted to support such a major event has really helped build my confidence and understanding of the wider NDA group.”
