‘My journey at Energus so far has been fantastic. It began when I was given the opportunity to attend a 1-day virtual assessment centre with all other candidates via teams. Prior to attending this final stage assessment centre, it’s safe to say that I was extremely nervous as I was unsure what to expect. However as soon as I attended the call, these nerves disappeared and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. Having the opportunity to meet employees who work within the different subsidiaries across the NDA group was very insightful, especially as we had the opportunity to have a Q&A session with the NDA group CFO Mel Zuydam to learn more about how the NDA Group operates.
The 2-week induction at Energus prior to beginning our secondments was very intuitive and I thoroughly enjoyed myself during these couple of weeks. The induction was based at Energus HQ in West Cumbria where I was able to meet the team at Energus, the NDA and my fellow graduates who were all very welcoming. The induction enabled us to take part in training courses such as Stakeholder Management Training, Mental Health Training and a Bookkeeping Course which provided us with the fundamentals to begin our secondments.
In terms of my first secondment working in finance, I am based at Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR) Ltd. The onboarding process was very smooth where I received a very warm welcoming from all the Finance Department. The first couple of weeks into my journey at LLWR required me to undertake some mandatory training which allowed me to work closely with my line manager who provided me with an insight to understand how the Finance Department at LLWR operates. As of today, I am currently working with the Accounts Payables team learning how to operate the accounting software which is setting me up for the remainder of my secondment with LLWR.’
